Saco River Access & Facility Use

Important Information About the Saco River

The Saco River Council (SRRC) is dedicated to protecting the privilege of enjoying the Saco River’s waters by promoting responsible river use. By following a few simple guidelines, you can help ensure that this beautiful natural resource remains available for generations to come. Many of the most popular river access points—including Swan’s Falls, Canal Bridge, and Brownfield Bridge—are managed by the SRRC. A valid parking pass is required for all vehicles left at these locations. These passes can be obtained at the Swan’s Falls Campground. The funds collected from these passes directly support the SRRC’s mission of keeping the river clean, safe, and open to all. For guests looking to camp, the river’s banks hold many sandbars and beaches along with the more comfortable Canal Bridge Family Campground, Saco Bound Landing Campground, and Woodland Acres Campground.
