No outside firewood allowed at this campground. Campers must obtain their firewood at this facility or proof from a local Maine firewood supplier.

We are a non profit organization-All $$$$ raised here go back into the river for clean up, maintenance, education and law enforcement.

A popular river access for canoeing and camping on the Saco at Swan's Falls Dam.

Overnight parking for river access is $10 day.

Camping RATES

$15 per person/visitor per night, under 10 are free.

Parking included at your site

Scouts, camp groups and youth groups $5 per person per night all ages. Up to 10 people per site.

50% deposit required for reservations. Refund with 3 days notice

Minimum camping fee of $25 per night.

$100 security deposit required. We can hold cash or a cc# for the security deposit. We will only take the deposit if the sites are left trashed, fire pits trashed or left burning, or any damage done to the sites, campground property or if the sites are used as an outhouse. Outhouses are cleaned twice daily or as needed.

We welcome and encourage families, scouts and youth groups to come stay with us for an enjoyable experience on the Saco River.

Dogs welcome on a leash. Please cleanup after them and dispose of waste properly.

OUR GATES CLOSE AT 8:30 PM WITH QUIET HOURS FROM 10PM TO 7 AM. Gate is locked at 10pm for the safety of our campers.

The gate may be opened after 8PM and before 10 pm for registered campers who wish to go out for dinner etc.
Quiet hours are at 10 pm, you may stay up to sit around the fire as long as not disturbing other campers or caretaker.
No disorderly conduct allowed! Enforced by local law enforcement.

and outdoor ethics for the protection of the Saco River.

A small rustic campground with 18 wooded sites along the banks of the Saco River. Picnic tables and fire rings on each site.
All firewood must be obtained at the campground, no outside firewood will be allowed. Strictly enforced!

Water spickets and outhouses in campground, no hook ups although campers and RVs are welcome.
We hope you have an enjoyable time on the river and at our campground.
Please always practice Leave No Trace and always respect your fellow paddlers and campers.

CAMPFIRES

Campfires on the campground must be in authorized fire rings only. Designated by the State of Maine No bon-fires.

Keep the fires low and attended at all times.

Keep a 5 gallon bucket (provided by the campground) full of water to extinguish your campfire.

Do not burn metal, glass or trash in the fires!

Practice Leave No Trace and make sure all trash makes it to the nearest dumpster.

Put fires out with water not sand or dirt.

NO cutting of standing trees either dead or alive.

Campfires on the river require a fire permit which is good for fires on the sand only.
Obtained free of charge at Swan's Falls campground.
Fires not allowed in the upland (woods and river banks).
All campsites and campfires must be left the way you found it. Clean and orderly!

Directions to Swans Falls Campground and Outdoor Education Facility

FROM BOSTON AND POINTS SOUTH:
Take interstate 95 through the Spaulding Turnpike to route 16 north. Follow route 16 all the way to Conway, NH. Continue straight through all sets of light to Fryeburg, Me route 302/113. Continue through Fryeburg through the only set up lights in Fryeburg village. Take a left onto route 5 by the Fryeburg Academy. Follow about 1/4 mile just before the Fryeburg Fairgounds across from Saco River Canoe and Kayak. Take a left onto Swans Falls road, take a right at the end of the road into campground.

FROM PORTLAND, ME/SOUTHERN MAINE:
Follow route 302 north to Fryeburg, bear right onto route 5 at the Fryeburg Academy. From South Portland you can take route 25/5 to Fryeburg.

FROM NORTHERN NH:
Follow route 302 into No. Conway, NH staying on route 302 into Fryeburg. Continue through Fryeburg through the only set up lights in Fryeburg village. Take a left onto route 5 by the Fryeburg Academy. Follow about 1/4 mile just before the Fryeburg Fairgounds across from Saco River Canoe and Kayak. Take a left onto Swans Falls road, take a right at the end of the road into campground.

FROM NORTHERN MAINE:
Follow Route 5 into Fryeburg, take a rignt onto Swans Falls road, just past the fairgounds across from Saco River Canoe and Kayak or follow route 117 to route 302 to Fryeburg Academy and bear right onto route 5. Follow about 1/4 mile just before the Fryeburg Fairgounds across from Saco River Canoe and Kayak. Take a left onto Swans Falls road, take a right at the end of the road into campground.
