Life Jackets and Personal Flotation Devices - State law requires each person on board to have a properly-fitting U.S. Coast Guard-approved serviceable life jacket. Also, boats longer than 16 feet must have a throwable PFD. The Maine Warden Service recommends that everyone wear his or her lifejacket while on the Saco River.
Tubes with solid bottoms are considered watercraft: lifejackets are required. Tubes with a hole in them are advised to have a PFD, but not required.
There are parking fees at all landings along the Saco River.
$10/day ALL MONEY RAISED AT THE SACO RIVER RECREATIONAL COUNCIL PARKING AREAS GOES BACK INTO THE RIVER FOR CLEAN UP,MAINENANCE,LAW ENFORCEMENT AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS ALONG THE SACO RIVER.
